Bob Silverstein, L.C.S.W.                                                                                           

Bob Silverstein brings over 25 years of experience as a psychotherapist/counselor, crisis manager, organizational change consultant and executive coach to his clients.  He has served as both a planner and trouble-shooter for management and employees before, during and/or after a worksite disruption that traumatically affects members of the workforce.  Bob is engaged when professional intervention is needed to help employees and management deal with the fear, anger, confusion and distress that result from an act of terrorism, natural disaster, downsizing, reorganization, strike or workplace crisis (such as an employee death, serious accident, or crime).  

Bob was the Clinical Director of the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation Employee Assistance and Trauma Intervention Programs for 4 years.  While there he aided responders to the first World Trade Center bombing and responded to many other critical events.  Following that, Bob worked with Partners International to direct their response to the terrorist attack of September 11, 2001 and provided organizational intervention and planning services, employee and management consultation, and training to their client companies.  

Bob’s client list includes American Express, Bank of New York, Barnard College, Chevron, Deloitte and Touche, Dime Savings Bank, Girl Scouts of the USA, Handy & Harman, Lehman Brothers, JPMorgan Chase, the NYC Department of Transportation, Nyack Hospital, Open Door Family Medical Center, Partners International, Philip Morris, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Postal Service.  

Bob has appeared on CNBC and NewsTalk Television.  He has published in HR Focus and is a sought after presenter to professional and business groups.   Bob graduated from Hobart College with a B.A. cum laude in Economics and earned his M.A. in Social Sciences from the University of Chicago.  He received his M.S.W. from the Hunter College School of Social Work in 1980.  Bob has also been trained in a variety of psychotherapy, crisis and trauma techniques, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD).
